My name is Jen Barney.
I am a wife, homeschooling mother of four with a background in accounting, and the founder of Kids Cash Academy. I lead a homeschool community in Arizona and I have spent years inside both the numbers and the families.
Money was complicated in my home growing up. It was not something we talked about with wisdom or intention. I did not want that for my kids. When I started homeschooling, I went looking for a complete, faith-based financial literacy curriculum built for elementary children. Something that would go beyond worksheets and actually form the way my kids think about earning, saving, giving, and stewardship.
I could not find it. So I built it.
The Heart of a Steward is the curriculum I wish I had been handed as a child, and the one I am now using with my own kids at home.
What We believe
Money is a discipleship issue. It is not just a life skill or a math concept. The way a child learns to think about money shapes the way they think about generosity, contentment, work, and what they are here to do.
We believe parents are the primary teachers. We believe Biblical stewardship belongs in childhood, not just adulthood. And we believe that with the right tools, any family can have these conversations well.
